We have heat! What a wonderfull invention - the Furnace. After deliberating over weather or not we should install it ourselves and the legal ramifications of us not being liscenced we decided to pay somebody to install the furnace. It felt so decadent to have somebody else come in to the house and work on it for us. It made me want to sit on the couch and eat bon bon's in loungewear.

I did not occurr to me that the heat would not warm a room unless there was ductwork taking the hot air to that room.

Prior to the heater we had 4 portable space heaters, 1 in the bedroom, 2 in the living room and 1 in the basement so we would race from warm room to warm room. Unfortuantely the bathroom had a tendance to be cold, same with the bedroom but sleeping in cool weather has never been a problem for me.

Once we got the heat in, I noticed the basement, 2 bedrooms and the downstairs bathroom were quite toasty but the rest of the house was quite chilly. We have been slowly but surely installing duct work and the house is evening out quite nicely.

Now, I am able to sit on the couch and eat bon bon's in my lounge wear without needing a blankie.
