Wedding part two

We lined up to start the wedding and it was Chelle, Connie, G and then me. Connie and G were battling tears and we were all very emotionally charged at that moment then the greatest thing happened: Chelle turned around to face all of us and told us “the baby just kicked!”. How awesome is that? What a great beginning to the wedding.

At this point the planner came over to the 3 brides maids and went over what they needed to do. The planner finished her conversation and the ladies all nodded and knew what to do but at that second I totally forgot everything. The planner backed away from the ladies to give them their cues and I went into panic mode and announced “I totally forgot what to do!“. The ladies all snickered and the planner reassured me and said I would get her full attention in a minute. Duh, the only thing I had to do was WALK down the isle.

I was convinced that I would cry but as I stood there alone waiting to walk down the isle I felt like I was going to be able to keep it together and got incredibly excited and happy. I walked to the back of the isle and waited for Rob to see me and then I walked down the isle. I wanted to see everybody there but I couldn’t stop looking at Rob, he looked so handsome and as I got closer to him I started to get weepy and actually started to loose it when he walked off the alter to me and we walked up to Father John Candy together.

Man, the entire time I was on the alter during the ceremony, I wanted to jump in Rob’s lap and snuggle or throw my arms around him and hug him. I also felt so happy, I can safely say it was the happiest moment I have ever felt in my life and that happiness lasted for hours. It felt like a pure happiness. It’s a shame I can’t think of a better way to describe it .

We took a ton of photo’s outside in the gardens and I think I had a perma smile the whole time. The limo ride was great – the traffic was horrible but everybody stopped to stare at the limo and then to wave at us. I felt like a celebrity. We went to the end of the city dock where Rob proposed and took some photos, there was a light breeze that would occasionally take the veil and raise it up. The breeze felt so good after standing in the sun in the 200 lb wedding dress.

I totally forgot about the bouquets!!! My flowers were the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, it was such a rich red and stark white freesia, it reminded me of the wedding dress next to the bride’s maid dresses. It smelled so good and the whole ceremony I did not want to put it down, it was like my security blanket and I held onto it with a death grip the entire ceremony….. and I had no idea what to do with it during the mass. The ladies flowers were perfect fall colors and looked like they were meant to match their dresses.
