Being punched in the face
There are a bunch of things that I do not want to experience:
Being in jail
Being punched in the face
Bugs crawling under my skin
Bats getting stuck in my hair
Eating razor blades and the list goes on.
Personally, I had never been punched in the face ... until last night and it was not as bad as I imagined it would be. Let me explain. The dog has been especially jubilant lately, he has been antsy and eager to play at all times. Getting off the couch and walking to the bathroom makes him leap in the air and twitch with joy.
So, when I got home from work yesterday, he was super hyper spazzy dog. He ran in circles around me and twitched. Let me back up for a second. Zippy is a pit bull/lab/hippopotamus mix. I realize why pitts have such strong necks, it's to hold up their huge noggin. When Zip lays down to snuggle and drops his head on your lap, it feels like a 10 ton weight landing on you. His cranium must be 2 inches thick, it's not brains taking up all the room, its skull.
So, when I got home last night and leaned down to take the blankie off the couch, it was Zippy's cue to leap into the air and show me his happy dance. The top of his brick head hit me square in the jaw.
I watch a lot of moves where people get hit in the jaw and they all do a little backward stagger with a stupid look on their face and then shake their head. Now I understand why. I saw white flashes and could have sworn I heard my cousin yelling "down goes Frazier". There was no blood and there were no bruises but damn it hurt, and it still hurts!
Rob arrived home and I had a ice pack on my jaw while the dog was still trying to show us his happy dance.
