Forced resignation
Wow, what a few couple of days.
For the past couple years I have been reporting to the VP of HR. As the department grew she decided to promote the ER person to Recruiting Manager. Aimee and I vehemently opposed reporting to the Boy Scout (as we refer to him) but she promoted him anyway. He has never managed staff in private industry, he manged staff in the military.
Two weeks ago I let the Boy Scout, know I was pregnant and would not be returning to work after the baby. We agreed I would work untill July.
Yesterday, he said I need to switch to full time and work 45-50 hours a week or they wanted my resignation. Can you believe that? What a douche.
He told me he spoke to the VP and they wanted me to go forward and hire my replacement since I'm not going to go to full time. I said it felt like they were pushing me out of the organization and he said the organization has been very lenient in letting me go part time and take leave without pay and he was justified.
Since I am part time (35 hours a week, instead of 40) I only early4 hours of paid time off per month and only get paid 4 hours for holidays, needless to say, leave without pay is my friend.
He acted like he was doing me a favor by letting me take sick days and use paid time off.
I called the EEOC and filed a claim, it was a knee jerk reaction, but what he did was not right.
Today, I talked with the VP and told her that I was bummed to be leaving. She was under the impression I had chosen to leave because I had baby on the brain. I told her that Ray did not give me a choice.
That rat, he told her something different then what happened.
He is now on my list.
He is on the axis of evil and I officially have it out for him.
My new mission for the rest of my employment will be to annoy this man.
I do not need him for a reference so it's open season on the Boy Scout.

I have heard there is definite prejudice against pregnant women/mothers in the workplace. This proves it.
I suggest you 1) get a psychologist to verify you're experiencing mental anguish (not one doctor will deny for fear of malpractice lawsuit if you indeed go off the deep end), 2) doctor writes you a note, and 3) you go on short term disability for 12 weeks! Number 4 is optional -- FMLA, just to f**k with them. They'll need to hold your position for another 12 weeks.
