Utah

Utah was much better skiing then I could have ever imagined. It was one of the best skiing trips I have ever been on. Perfect conditions and I got my bronze medal at Park City. It was pretty easy getting back into it and I was whooshing down the blacks in no time untill we got a foot of powder. Skiing in powder is a totally different beast all together and I have no idea how to tame that beast so I got a little beat up by the powder. Rob did an incredible job as well, I dragged him down a few runs that were clearly beyond his ability but he made it down them like a champ and with no injuries.

We stopped at the Rite Aid to get a bottle opener since the state run liquor stores don't sell any equipment used to open products sold there(wierd Mormon law) and Rob was wearing the Sin Zin t-shirt. The back says "Saturday Night" with a picture of the logo from Sin Zin and the front says "Sunday Night" and a picutre of the logo from thier Redemption ale.
As we were walking out of the Rite Aid a guy who was walking in stopped dead in his tracks and gave Rob the look of death. The only thing we could think of was the t-shirt. I wonder if we offended a Mormon.

I love St Patrick's day but wonder why the Feast Of St Gennaro or the Chinese New Year aren't as big. Why the Irish holiday? The general consensus around work is that if you make it a "drinking" day then it's popularity grows, for example Cinco De Mayo and Mardi Gras.

That makes some sense since my 2 favorite St. Patrick's Days both involve drinking. I took the Erin Express with the Philly crew one year and took the drunk bus all over Philly drinking green beer and wearing ridiculous green attire. Another year I went to NY to see my cousins march in the parade and wound up drinking too many mojitos the night before and missed the parade. Fortunately, I recovered in time to meet up with Tom, Shamus and the bunch at an NYPD Irish bar on the upper East side and then moved to a FDNY bar and met up with the rest of my NY based cousins.

I read that they are doing the Green Beer races again...Zippy and I are pretty good running partners and I know he has some speed in him. I think we are going to go for the gold.... or the bronze. Speaking of bronze medals. I won a NASTAR Bronze medal in Crested Butte and I keep it on my ski hat. Well, Rob wore my ski hat and left it on the couch while we went out to dinner last night. Zippy seized the opportunity to:
A - Nibble on the medal until it came off the hat
B - Slobber all over the hat
C - Scratch the medal beyond repair
D - Bend the pin part in half

Sadly enough I can't be mad at either one - anything left out runs the risk of having the dog demolish it and I gave up on expecting Rob to put anything away. It's the nature of both beasts.

Wow, it took me an hour and 1/2 to get to work today. I think I have some kind of traffic phobia because my chest is incredibly tight, my tummy hurts and I just want to sit here and cry. I truly have a physical reaction to sitting in traffic.

I got a call from a friend who is a Technical Recruiter at Cisco, and they need another Technical Recruiter to work part time from home. Boy would I love that job but I don't feel right taking another job when I plan to take a 3 or 4 year hiatus from working as soon as we have baby #1. Which means I have to stick it out here, which isn't so bad but isn't so good.
